I have been in sales since I can remember. My first foray in professional selling was my first “real” job after college in the travel industry as a travel agent. I started off in a really fun way selling backpacking trips to college students. The first year in sales with, then, Council Travel in Berkeley, I discovered the invigorating experience of a fat commission check. That year, we all received a percentage of our sales. I recall it being almost $5,000 back in the 90s. Ever since this very exciting moment, I have been intrigued with commission and creating income for non-profits through fundraising. Each ways of earning incomes are incredibly similar. One big similarity is that both sales and fundraising are enhanced by asking questions and then telling a story that matches the answers to the questions you just asked.
Learn the aims and goals of your client’s connection with the product, or experience you represent helps you tell more focused stories.
Because I am one of the rare people who find this to be a fun, always. It feels natural to me. I love telling stories without getting paid, so add a reason to tell stories and I am all in! I also really enjoy serving others through products, services, or a vision. What I also know is that if you get in the flow and do this well, you can be part of a pivotal point in your client’s life. Sometimes this natural fun can go very deep within this connection.
If it is all about connection, why not enjoy it?
I get asked often, “why do you enjoy networking so much?” and my response is that I simply can’t help it. I love connecting with people and learning about who they are and then being of service to connect them to another person in their field or, maybe, a product or service I represent. Since I have been doing this for so long, now, I see how this is a bit of a rare talent because so many people appreciate this (or are annoyed by it) and don’t have the knack for it.
In the yogic world, we understand that cultivating a connection, or “union” with others represents all that yoga is about. So essentially, sales and serving others can be a spiritual experience. This with this in mind, cultivate a connection with your own mind, body, and soul before diving into work and watch how the flow goes. It’s magical.
Empowered confidence in networking.
In the dynamic world of sales, fundraising, and networking, confidence and a commanding presence are invaluable assets. Within business, if you are not technically in sales, you may be in a part of a company that is seeking expansion. Whether creatively, technically, or in an innovative way, seeing growth within your company helps sustainability and continuation.
Understanding expansion, as a directive for most public-facing companies, we can deduce that networking and being resourceful within the company is a helpful skill to cultivate. One often overlooked method for cultivating these qualities is through the practice of face yoga (face union). Far beyond just a trend, face yoga offers a holistic approach to self-care and self-improvement, focusing not only on physical appearance but also on mental well-being. With additions of face yoga into your business routine, professionals (no matter the industry) can remove stagnant energy, which is always key to sales and coalescing donations. With flow, face yoga can enhance confidence, foster self awareness, and present an energetic face that captivates and inspires others.
Cultivating Confidence
Confidence is the cornerstone of success in any professional endeavor. It’s the belief in oneself and one’s abilities that allows individuals to take risks, make impactful decisions, and navigate challenges with poise. Face yoga plays a crucial role in cultivating this confidence by promoting relaxation, reducing stress, improving self awareness, and boosting self-esteem.
Through targeted exercises and techniques, face yoga helps release tension in facial muscles, resulting in a more relaxed and open expression. As a result, professionals exude an aura of confidence and approachability, making them more relatable and persuasive in their interactions.
Fostering Self Awareness
In the competitive landscape of sales, fundraising, and networking, it’s easy to become overly critical of one’s appearance. However, self awareness is essential for maintaining a positive mindset and projecting authenticity to others. Face yoga encourages individuals to embrace their natural features and celebrate their uniqueness.
By engaging in exercises that promote circulation and lymphatic drainage, face yoga enhances the skin’s radiance and vitality, fostering a sense of appreciation for one’s appearance. Moreover, the mindfulness aspect of face yoga encourages practitioners to cultivate gratitude and acceptance, leading to greater self awareness and confidence.
Presenting an Energetic Face
In professions that require frequent face-to-face interactions, maintaining an energetic and engaging demeanor is paramount. Face yoga offers a natural solution for revitalizing the face and combating signs of fatigue or stress. Through a combination of facial exercises, acupressure, and massage techniques, professionals can rejuvenate their appearance and convey enthusiasm and vitality to others.
By incorporating simple yet effective face yoga routines into their daily regimen, professionals can ensure that they always present themselves with authenticity and confidence. Whether pitching a sale, soliciting donations, or networking with potential clients or partners, a face yogi or yogini have a better understanding of their presentation and the energetics they are sharing with clients or colleagues.
With new self-awareness, face yoga is a powerful tool for professionals seeking to enhance their confidence, foster self-love, and present an positivelyy energetic face for sustaining success in sales, fundraising, and networking activities. By dedicating just a few minutes each day to these transformative practices, individuals can unlock their full potential and achieve their goals with grace and authenticity. So, why not embark on this journey of self-discovery and empowerment today? Your future self will thank you for it.
