What if you had enough time?

What if you were able to complete all that needs to be done today?

How would you feel diving into bed with enough time to read, meditate, and do face yoga?

I ask this question to my coaching clients and what I have seen are exponential responses. Transformative outcomes, as well. Quite honestly women who are able to prioritize better with a simple mindset shift that encompasses the most perishable component of our life: time.

As we march into the next season, the next phase of life, and the next meeting, having a mindset that includes this thought, “I have enough time,” may become a mantra once you begin including it and seeing how you re-work your thoughts and step into a new way of thinking about your personal experience. You see, what happens is that all of a sudden, chores become less “work”. Moments can be cherished more with your beloveds because you aren’t thinking about what needs to happen next. Because you have enough time.

Beautify The Current Season

No matter your age, beautifying from the inside is a noteworthy process. It uplifts the mind, restores and softens the heart, and attracts others. What is your current season of life? Are you a college student, young professional, adventurer? Are you in your 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, or beyond? No matter your current season, take some time to sort out a few things as you begin changing your mindset.

The best part about deciding that there is enough time in the day is that it just takes a flip of the switch in your mind to do this. For some, neuroplasticity may take a little bit of unraveling, but stick with me, here, because as long as you have cognitive function, you can rewire your brain. Like the joints, the brain may be a little stiff, but with due diligence, you can reshape your mindset about anything.

Expressing to the universe that there is enough time to do the tasks at hand enlivens more time for you. Magically, you feel the benefits of claiming the intention of having enough time so then you have it. The universe responds with more time for you and the cycle continues. By changing your perspective, you change the dynamic quality of how you interact with life. This shapes our experience to beautify this current season we are in.

Beautify the Next Season.

What lies ahead in your next season of life? Maybe you already have the next season of your life in view. Be it menopause or retirement, take a moment to sit and make plans for this. Allocate time to review what lies ahead. With your current perspective of having enough time in the current day, bring it into the future, as well.

If you have the next phase of your life dialed in with retirement funds set aside, a looming inheritance, or organizing how to liquidate your belongings to make the next phase work, becoming aware of what lies ahead eases the pain of the planning. Bringing this next experience into view on a regular basis, allows for creative problem solving and planning which can take the sting out feeling as if there isn’t enough money or time to plan for these things.

Better yet, include time with a professional financial advisor to organize the details of what lies ahead with you. Those outside of your life will offer a candid view and even possibilities or resources for which you may not have considered yet. Beautify your future self with a plan of action that is in accord with your values and allow time for this.

When you take time to intentionally consider that you do have enough to take care of yourself with means, work ethic, or creative solutions, this brings ease to your day and you can make better informed decisions now about how you spend your money. Beautify your life with the security that you will have enough and that you are making shifts so you have enough time and money to fortify your life in your golden years.

Beautify Tomorrow.

As we think about tomorrow, literally, tomorrow (not fast forwarding to retirement), the day looks like a blank canvas. Take care in unstructured planning. Allowing for the work days to be filled with intention to allow for self-care practices like meditation, farmer’s market visits, preparing your own food, doing face yoga, and all of the important daily activities. This offers richness and continuity into your tomorrow.

However, allocate time to integrate slack time. Leave slack at work, but allow for loose time, especially on weekends. Also, slack time is critical if you have children. Leaving some wiggle room allows for your relationships to have ease. Overcommitting tends to wear down your relationships when you are over scheduled and needing to rearrange commitments. This can be tiring for others in your life. Creating unnecessary confusion, we find that adding some time for ease and changing gears with the toddler or our teen’s temper tantrum.

For those in peri-menopause, we find that weaving in some slack time, can be so helpful on those unpredictable days of feel incredibly dry, achy, and constipated. Days of hot flashes and fatigue from sleepless nights can invite discord in the day. Allowance for an easy time to sink into your own needs brings calm to the chaos. The peri-menopausal woman is so deserving of deep rest. Allocating intentional slack time into the schedule means that she can get a break even if it means shifting schedules or moving things around to fit in a nap.
